From humble origins…

It started as a mission to find the best hot chocolate in the world.

This led to an introduction to craft chocolate (shout out to Nuance Chocolate). Pretty soon, I was hooked on bean-to-bar, seeking out every chocolate maker I could find, eager to learn, to taste, to share…

I knew I had to do something with all these thoughts and feelings about craft chocolate. In the wild Icelandic winter (excited for a visit to omNom Chocolate) I decided to start Cacao About Town, an Instagram blog of chocolate tastings, travel spots and fun pairings.

A few years (and a few Chocolate Tasting Certifications) later, and that blog has become a series of Chocolate Tasting workshops, Corporate Tasting Experiences, and a Chocolate & Cacao Consultancy service.

Bean-to-bar chocolate is an incredibly exciting movement, built on fundamental principles of respect for farmers, the environment and fine flavour. My aim is to share my passion for ethically-sourced, sustainably-produced chocolate and cacao with you, and your friends, and the person next to you on the train, and anyone else who wants to learn about the wonderful world of craft chocolate.

There's so much amazing work being done from farm to factory, and I look forward to illuminating it for you - whether it's at one of my classes, Corporate Tasting Experiences, or by helping you find the perfect chocolate for your café, restaurant or event.
